Jon Jones Favours Pereira over Aspinall Heavyweight Fight

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been interacting with fans on social media, talking about possible future fights.

Following his next title defense against Stipe Miocic, Jones is looking at two current champions for his next fight; interim champion Tom Aspinall and light heavyweight champ Alex Pereira.
Pereira is the one he wants to face, according to Jones, who said it would be “the biggest fight the UFC could make.” But that hasn’t gone over well with some fans, who feel he should instead fight Aspinall — the other titleholder in his division.

Support for Aspinall has been loud online. “Tom already won this fight without even throwing a punch,” one commenter said on social media. “Refuses to fight Tom but wanna fight Pereira cause of his lack of ground game you’re a funny guy.”

Jones responded to that criticism, defending his choice of Pereira by stating that a fight with Aspinall wouldn’t be as big outside of the UK. He thinks Pereira is more marketable because he’s “one of the most polarizing figures this sport has seen.”

As for what specifically Aspinall had to say in response to Jones’ comments? That was not included in the article.
