The rivalry between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira is well-documented within the world of combat sports.
Both fighters have won and lost in intense kickboxing matches that have characterized their history. During UFC 303, Pereira scored a knockout win. Nevertheless, it was surprising to hear no comments from Adesanya on this victory; he did not celebrate his own victory at all. Being with his friends while the fight was ongoing, however, he remained indifferent to Pereira’s achievement.
In other words, some fans saw a trace of bitterness in his attitude towards the loss. Furthermore, Adesanya may not be interested in facing off against Pereira again thus could be one reason why he acted so subdued after the fact. Another probability is that he might still feel calm about what they had previously gone through including when Adesanya beat him in their last encounter. That said this rivalry still seems to be ongoing.
